6/20/98 This is me doing my best -- Well, I'm trying anyway -- To do the things you need to have done And I carefully avert a Disaster that hasn't happened. This is me trying my hardest To make sense of what you can and Cannot do. I skirt around the issue To save us needless heartache, But I can't do it forever. This is me doing my damnedest To remain myself -- hoping that your Earlier fascination can stretch to All of me -- That being much more and much Less than anyone could see from the Outside. This is me doing my damnedest To hold your attention while making A determined attempt to wear what I want And to do what I want when I want where I want.
